John Gilman View from the Cellar 92

2005 Méo-Camuzet Frère et Sœurs Chambolle-Musigny 1er Cru Les Feusselottes (France, Burgundy, Côte de Nuits, Chambolle-Musigny 1er Cru) View From the Cellar, 11/1/2006, Nov/Dec 2006, John Gilman 92 I was so excited to find this bottling in the Méo cellars in 2004, as this is one of my favorite terroirs in the village of Chambolle-Musigny. The very fine 2004 has been followed up by a stellar 2005. The nose on the Méo Feusselottes in 2005 is a bit finer than on the Les Cras, as it offers up a polished mélange of black berries, cherries, chocolate, striking minerality, once again violets and a nice framing of vanillin oak. On the palate the wine is fullish, refined and elegant, with a nice intensity at the core, bright acids, and a touch less tannin than the Cras on the long finish. The 2005 Feusselottes is another very classy Chambolle from Jean-Nicolas Méo. (drink 2012-2030)

Alen Meadows Burghound 90-92

2005 Méo-Camuzet Frère et Sœurs Chambolle-Musigny 1er Cru Les Feusselottes (France, Burgundy, Côte de Nuits, Chambolle-Musigny 1er Cru) Burghound, 1/1/2007, 1st Quarter, 2007, Allen Meadows (web) 90-92 An even more elegant and refined nose that is pure red pinot in character complements to perfection the delicious, round and supple flavors that are the definition of finesse. There is a bit more depth here plus this glides like silk across the palate. Utterly lovely. (drink starting 2011)
